Outside Hours
One of the four main principles of the NHS is to stimulate a desire to render service. This quality is defined as the voluntary contributions made by a student to the school or community, without direct financial or material compensation to the individual performing the service. Students should keep this in mind when seeking outside hour opportunities. The goal is not the fastest way to hour completion, but the best way you can help your community and grow as a National Honor Society member.
Outside hours must come from NHS approved organizations. Before submitting your outside hours, email us to ask for approval of the organization. Outside hours will not be accepted unless the organization was previously approved. Any hours not completed through an official organization will not be accepted. Keep in mind that only 6 out of your 12 hours per semester can come from outside hours.
