Welcome to the NHS webpage. Based in Houston, Texas, the Mirabeau B. Lamar High School Chapter of the National Honor Society facilitates volunteer events for over 350 chapter members. Our rigorous and holistic application process ensures that all members are driven to excel in their communities and in the classrooms, putting our best and brightest students out into the community to serve. This year, through a dedicated group of Officers and Junior Officers, we are proud to support one of the largest National Honor Societies with a myriad of meaningful volunteering opportunities to serve our community. Our officers, sponsors, and members dedicate their time to helping out in our community, serving and supervising at projects: fun runs, festival volunteering, non-profit events, and much more.
Departing from the traditional officer position of "Parliamentarian" of the National Honor Society, the Lamar National Honor Society Chapter voted in 2015 to approve the restructuring of the position to "Webmaster", whose role is to maintain the website and other technological aspects of chapter administration. The move was made in response to growing chapter size and to advances in technology. To find out more about our organization, you can browse the remainder of our website, fill out a contact form under the "contact" page, or email us directly at [email protected]. |
