In order to become a NHS officer your senior year you are REQUIRED to be a Junior Officer this year!
Officers delegate jobs to Junior Officers and expect them to help supervise during NHS events (among other responsibilities)

- JOs show leadership skills and essentially act as assistants to the officers
- JOs are more involved in NHS and learn about officer roles throughout the year
As a JO, you're expected to...
- Find and supervise events
- Represent Lamar NHS well
- Notify the Officers of any issues within NHS
- Help the Officers with certain tasks
- Learn about the Officer roles and train to be an Officer (Juniors ONLY!)
REQUIREMENTS:
- In addition to the 12 required volunteer hours per semester for members, JOs are required to complete 1 additional JO-specific volunteer opportunity each semester (these are generally in-school events during lunch).
- If you are selected as a JO and at any time you quit your position, or do not complete your 1 additional opportunity, you will have 2 regular volunteer hours in penalties
Application to be a JO for the 2025-2026 school year is TBD.
